The game is very much like the ride at WDW. The carnival-style activities are somewhat repetitive, but reasonable.

The menu system is horrible. There are no labels for the menu options and no clues that the B button is the way to go back. If you finally navigate your way through, the activities are entertaining.

The 3D is lack-luster and the game is finished very quickly.

Though my young children find the activities challenging and are entertained by their favorite characters, any child with video game skills will find this boring quite quickly.

It's is worth renting for the weekend or buying second-hand.

I am a huge fan of all things Disney, and usually greatly enjoy there video games. However, this game grew old on me very quickly. The game concept is that of the ride in Disney, which is shooting out targets. Compared to the ride, the scenes are the same, a Buzz Lightyear space ranger level, Bo's balloon pop, Hamm and Rex's animal farm, the Green Army men's plate breaking, and Woody's Roundup shooting gallery. There are a few seperate levels for each scene, most of which are the basic point and shoot, though there are goals each level, some of which can be tricky to get, so there is some challenge to them. There are also a few mini games each level, such as a watch the cup - find the hidden coin game with Bo and a table tilt game with the Green Army Men.

The game does have a few cons. The biggest being that there is no way to save anything during story mode, though whatever games you complete all the onjectives for and get unlocked, do remain unlocked if you shut down the Wii without saving. The game also only took about an hour for me to play through the complete story mode, which is much too short in my opinion, though you are rewarded tickets based on your score, so you'll be playing story mode several times to unlock all the free play content.

The game is fun for a few hours, and free play is fun for a group, but it can, and does, get boring very quickly.

I bought this for my 4 year old. We had just been to Disneyland and Toy Story Mania was his favorite ride. The game is not just like the ride but very similar. Once you get to free play which is easy to do it is a lot more fun then when you first start playing. I have a 13 year old a 10 year old and a 7 year old and they all love it. I love to play it with my 4 year old.

This is a very addictive game. I must have played it for 7 hours straight. There is a nice story line. You get all sorts of matches from 3 on 3 tag team and ladder matches and everything in between. I have played all the other WWE games and this one is by far the best. This is a very fun game even if your not a big WWE fan. The only draw back is if you play the "Road to Wrestlemaina" you don't get to choose a wrestler you get to play as Sheamus.

Reviewed by Happenstance Slugger "taco"

I will start my review by saying this is not a Smackdown vs Raw game with a different name. If are a fan of SDVR you might not even like this game. For others this will be a good thing that the action is different.

The menus are very similar to the last years game with alot of the same match options.
WWE Universe seems to be a little deeper this year and you can customize what titles, arena , and brand name you use for you show. For instance I put WCW instead of Smackdown.

There is a ton of title belts and arenas in the game as well as the option to make your own arena. Problem being that the arenas are glitchy, about 50% of the time half the ring canvas is blacked out.

The new game engine has it's pluses and minuses I start with the positives

The wrestlers move much smoother than in SD games
the match pacing is more realistic, you don't win a match in 2 minutes.
The moves seem to be more dramatic and just look way better in general.
The game just moves better and everything is more fluid.
I really like the new submission system alot better.

The negatives that I found in the actual wrestling in game is that
I don't really care for the control layout ( I believe this can be altered and I have not checked into any others yet so this may be moot).
There seems to be less moves overall that your wrestler has at their disposal and I seem to pull off alot of the same moves over and over again. Especially early on in the match before you opponent gets groggy and are able to execute the bigger slams.
Pin system seem hit and miss. Sometimes i hit the meter dead on and it still counts on me.

Then there are somethings that are good and bad like the AI seem to be smarter and actually attacks appropriate to the situation for the most part. They still dont do a wide variety of things and the reversals are out of control this year.

There is alot more that can be said but I just wanted to weigh in objectively for people who have not played the game because there is not many reviews up for it at this time and they one of them I saw was a 9/10 IGN and Game Informer gave it a very low score like 5.5/ 10. I myself would give it a 8.5 out of 10. It is alot of fun and the new predator system is a step in the right direction IMO but the game also has it's fair share of glitches , none game breaking but some are pretty significant. It is different enough from the last smackdown game that if you are on the fence about buying it you may want to rent it first. I think some people may not like it do to the fact it is slower paced and more difficult.

(update) I reloaded the game and haven't had any more issues with the ring shading and tearing problems.

Reviewed by B. Belmonte "Mr. Green"

OK so I'm just gonna write a quick review on the game so far since there aren't any yet (I will re-edit as I get more gamplay in). First off the first thing I noticed and am sure everyone else did was the controls, different but after a few matches you get the hang of things very quick. The menu is similar to SVR 2011 but an updated feeling, matches are the same but didn't see a "First Blood" match. Gameplay is smooth and fun once you get a hang of everything, though it seems like you get less grapple moves with the new control layout but still I've only had for half a day so far. Besides having one of the most complete rosters in a wrestling game the WCW invasion was a huge selling point for me since I was a major fan of WCW, but wish there were more WCW characters included (already online have seen awesome CAWs and Arenas to be downloaded). There are a ton of belts in the game too from everything that was in SVR 2011 to 3 different Tag Team belts, European Belt, Attitude Era belt, 2 WCW belts, Undisputed Belt, Hardcore Belt, Classic Intercontinental, Light-Heavyweight, Champion of Champion, Classic ECW, Cruiserweight, and a few others so you can imagine all the match possibilities there are. There has been mixed reviews on Road To Wrestlemania with being able to pick 3 characters and repeated cut scenes but so far I've enjoyed everything on this game. So as I play more I will have a more detailed review, I just wanted to put something up so people could see, enjoy.

Overview:

It seems like Princess Peach has been kidnapped... again. The overlying premise? It seems as if Bowser got a bit too Tanooki tail-happy, attaching them to everything from himself to Goombas, Boos, and Bullet Bills (really, Bowser, really?). As the usual Mario World fare, you'll fight through 8 worlds of high flying, fire flowering action, but this time, you'll get the aid of some pretty cool power-ups, ranging from the Tanooki Suit to the new Boomerang Suit! Also, if anyone remembers the good ol' Goomba shoe in Super Mario World 3, you'll get a similar power-up: the Propeller Block, which will allow you to soar even higher in to the air!

Gameplay: 9.5/10

Gameplay is fairly easy here: the levels aren't too hard, and you'll find yourself with an abundance of lives once you defeat Bowser in World 8. Each level is quite interesting, and none of them are quite a bore. Unfortunately, some levels require specific power-ups in order to unlock some cool things: the Tanooki Suit provides the ability to crank up blocks, the Fire Flower gives the ability to light some torches, and the Propeller Block can help you reach relatively unobtainable places. This gives it a pretty good challenge, as you'll need to map out and plan your abilities, but it can be frustrating at times when you reach a level and you don't have the necessary power-ups. Fortunately, obtaining power-ups are as easy as getting coins in the game-they're everywhere.

Also, as a little help to people who keep dying, you'll receive a special Invincible Tanooki Suit after dying a few times, which will grant you a sparkling white version of the Tanooki Suit that grants you infinite invincibility for the duration of the level. If that doesn't help you, after dying a few more times, you can also get the famed P Wing, which will fly you straight to the end of the level. This may be great for some, but where's the fun in that?

Finally, the Star Coins return as the level collectibles a la New Super Mario Bros. DS: there are 3 of these coins in each level, and they're used to unlock specific levels across the world map. These coins are fairly easy to get, though some are quite well hidden, providing an incentive to keep playing to 100% the game.

Replayability: 8/10

What happens after you beat World 8? Well, it seems like good ol' bro Luigi got himself in a bind, so you can now access a new Special World, which will stand as some much harder levels for Mario to plow through (all of this trouble just for Luigi? Sheesh!). Mini-games that used to be found in Super Mario 64 DS and New Super Mario Bros. DS are non-existent this time around, which is a shame, but the ability to gain items via StreetPass is a good addition, and you'll even receive items from people who don't even have the game! Another incentive is simply a time attack mode in which you can attempt to beat a person's fastest level time. Through it all, once everything is completed, there may be little reason to play through it again, but some levels stand to be just as fun after multiple runs through it.

Graphics: 9.5/10

If you're looking for some of the best quality graphics on the 3DS, Super Mario 3D Land has you covered. The visuals are quite astounding and the fluidity of the movements are just as incredible. As for the 3D effects? Astounding. If you've read other reviews, you'll find that most will recommend you playing in 3D at all times: I believe that playing in 2D can be achieved with a relatively same level of ease. You can easily turn on or off the 3D effects by simply pressing up or down on the D-pad, while also slightly tilting the camera left or right by pressing the corresponding directions on said D-pad.

Control: 9/10

Control is rather simplistic and follows the same line as most adventure/platform games. You'll move using the circle pad, crouch/butt smash with L or R, run/attack with Y or X, and jump using A or B. There's also some various combinations you can do with the above control scheme, which gives you more options especially when fighting in tight spaces. My only gripe here, though, is that since running and attacking or done using the same button, you may find yourself using attacks without meaning too, which can leave yourself open to enemy attacks, especially if you're using the Boomerang Suit. Nevertheless, the control scheme is solid despite the minor gripes.

Overall: 9/10

Super Mario 3D Land is Mario's first outing on Nintendo's newest portable platform. This game has been in the making for quite some time, but is fun nonetheless. Though the main quest can be beaten in a little under 6 hours, the game provides some nostalgia as a form of fan service to long time Mario fans. From the 8-bit Mario on the bottom screen's map layout, to the 8-pixel level with all things Mario (and Zelda), and even a level that is reminiscent of a classic Legend of Zelda dungeon, this game brings together generations of Mario games in to one great adventure.

Reviewed by Pika-Zap

Super Mario 3D Land feels like a mixture between Super Mario Galaxy, New Super Mario Bros., and Super Mario Bros. 3. As a fan of the mentioned games, I greatly enjoyed Super Mario 3D Land, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and easy game to play. I was slightly disappointed by the level of difficulty of the game (it was definitely on the easy side), but the game was intended to be this way. If you are having trouble with a stage, after losing five lives, you have the option of using a White Tanooki power-up, which makes you invincible to damage for the rest of that stage.

After beating the game, harder levels open up to give you more to do. Each stage also contains three special hidden coins, so you can also attempt to find every coin hidden in the game. I enjoyed the soundtrack to the game - many of the songs were remakes from Super Mario Bros. 3. The recurring themes from Super Mario Bros. 3 were nostalgic and enjoyable for me. Overall, this game is a must-have for any 3DS owner. If you don't have a 3DS yet but later get one, I suggest getting this as your first 3DS game.

Gameplay: 9/10
Graphics: 10/10
Sound: 9/10
Lasting Appeal: 8/10

I have this game for my 3DS, and I love it as I have always been a fan of Mario. This one is a bit challenging, but fun. The 3D in the game is amazing, and they did a fantastic job with the look of the game. Never seen it like this before. (Never played Mario Galaxy or something like that.)

Anyway, the gameplay is pretty good, although tricky at times. I am in World 5 right now, and I can't get into the castle at the end because I don't have enough Star Coins. Guess I'll have to backtrack unless someone knows a shortcut.

I do enjoy this game though. I've always loved Mario, and this is a good addition to the game collection, and a great reason to get a 3DS if you're considering it, especially if you love Mario. I'd recommend this to Mario fans, and good luck with the game! :)

I'm normally a big booster for Telltale Games but it seems to me that they've kind of dropped the ball on this one. Having played through the first episode so far I can say that it doesn't really feel much like an adventure game, or really much of a game at all.

Most of the gameplay is based around sequential button pressing. While being chased by a tyrannosaur, for example, you can only "beat" the scene by hitting up, down, left right or what have you in the order displayed on the screen and in time. I haven't seen anything that I would really call a puzzle so far, and by and large the game feels like a rail shooter. The mechanics break from what we've come to expect from the adventure genre - characters wandering around different scenes, talking to people, finding items to solve puzzles and the like - by having no inventory and no real ability to control where you are in the game. You're pretty much pressing buttons in sequence to move from one scene to the next which is not at all what I expected from a Telltale Games title. In fact, the most common game mechanic is simply mashing the instructed button repeatedly until a bar gets filled up.

If there is any game I could compare this to it's the old laserdisc arcade games like Space Ace or Dragon's Lair. Move joystick, hit button, get next scene. If you miss, you go to a death scene and have to start over. That's pretty much what the game play is like, except there are a few more buttons and more downtime.

You never get a sense of your environment. If you are presented with a scene, it will have highlighted areas that you are supposed to click. Everything is pointed out to you - areas you can investigate have a question mark, things you can move have a little controller icon over them. Dialogue options are usually pretty minimal and have had little if any impact on the game itself. As an example, there are multiple scenes where you get to create your own banter as it were. It's fun to do I guess, but it really doesn't do anything for the game. They would have been better off just making it into a straight cut scene.

Presentation wise I don't have any real complaints. The graphics aren't cutting edge for certain, but they're not terribly dated either. The soundtrack sounds like it was largely lifted from the movie which is exactly what I would expect, indeed hope for. The voice acting is decent, as are the character designs. The game was polished and complete, I didn't notice any major bugs or crashes in the the four or five hours I've spent playing it.

The story starts partway through the movie and follows a handful of stereotypes - the kind gentle father with the troubled teenager, the wisecracking mercenary, the tough woman with a suppressed maternal instinct. It's not going to win any awards, but if you like Jurassic Park (like I do) then the story is at least as enjoyable as either JPIII or the Lost World and certainly not any worse.

There's nothing wrong with how Jurassic Park: The Game is presented, the flaws lie within the uninspired, rail shooter game play. To me Telltale has a reputation for making interesting, challenging adventure games in the vein of Sam & Max Hit the Road, The Dig and so forth. They had puzzles, great freedom of action and rewarded creativity. With Jurassic Park I found the minimal gameplay elements intrusive, I would rather have just watched the whole game as cutscenes instead of spending time pressing the button I'm told to press. The gameplay actively interferes with the story!

Reviewed by cptrinch

This game is by no stretch of the word great. It's clear it was made on a budget as the graphics and animations will point out. However, it's heart is in the right place. If you ever loved Jurassic Park as a kid and want to experience a taste of that magic this a good buy. I went into this game knowing it was budget and an adventure game to boot and while I find the extensive use of quick time events to be a bit excessive the action scenes and story make up for it. Not to mention you get to explore new parts of the park never before seen in the movies. This game is more like an interactive movie with moments of the point and click adventure games of old. Jurassic Park is not a game for everyone and those unfamiliar with the a fore mentioned adventure games of the 1990's will probably not get into it finding it to archaic in game play terms to be satisfied. People familiar with more modern approaches to this genre such as heavy rain will be in their element as it shares the same genre with out the quality of time and a budget to make it truly great. Here's a quick list for easy dissection of this review.

Pro's:
- Great story and voice acting
- A retro style game for re-living those childhood memories
- Explore new parts of the park like the marine life facility
- Dinosaur animations and sound effects are great
- The investigative sections where you explore the environment are a lot of fun

Con's:
- Dialogue can be stereotypical at times
- Animation (Specifically the human characters) and Graphics in general are below today's standards by far
- A lot of quick time events

Overall I give it prop's for simply being done well with what budget they had and it's clear by their efforts that they loved the source material and did their best to make an adventure worthy of the fan's love. Take it for what it is and what could of never been instead of what it isn't.

I hope the Jurassic Park review above can be useful for you. You're also can share the Jurassic Park review above to your friends if you think it also can be useful for them.

Halo 4 Trailer (E3 2011) and Information

Sunday, November 20, 2011

Halo 4 is an upcoming video game and the eights installment in the best-selling Halo franchise. Halo 4 is intended to be the first of a new trilogy of Halo series games, named the "Reclaimer Trilogy". After rumored if Halo 4 for Xbox 720, Microsoft confirms Halo 4 is for Xbox 360. Whereas the previous Halo games were developed by Bungie, Halo 4 will be developed by 343 Industries, Microsoft's new internal development company. The game continues some time after the ending of Halo 3, and marks the return of the Master Chief as the main protagonist. Cortana will also appear in the game. The game will be released Q4, 2012.

Halo 4

Halo 4

Frank O'Connor confirmed that the planet seen in the trailer is Sigma 7 from Halo 3 (during the Legendary epilogue) and said that "It is safe to say it's not human". The game is currently expected to be released in "Holiday 2012", following the release of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary on November 15th, 2011.

Little is known about the game at this point. The teaser-trailer debuted at E3 2011 titled, Awakening, is thus far, the major source of information.

Halo 4 Trailer

In the teaser, Master Chief, asleep in his cryo-tube, awakens as Cortana shouts for him to wake up. Although slow to wake from his stasis (as is normal for cryo-sleep), the Chief energetically snaps into action. He gets out of the tube and approaches Cortana, reassuring her that he is awake and present. An explosion reverberates through the hull, cutting their brief reunion short and alerting John to the danger of the situation. With little time to lose, he transfers Cortana to her data chip and exits the room, drifting weightlessly through the disintegrating interior of the UNSC Forward Unto Dawn with the aid of a thruster pack. As he maneuvers through the debris-filled corridor, he grabs what seems to be a magnum-like pistol that fires off single-use explosive projectiles. He uses the weapon to blast open an opening in the aft section of the ship. Exiting through the torn section, the Chief prepares to face whatever warranted his awakening, as the Dawn approaches a mysterious planet/unknown construct with a massive portal/tunnel opening.

The Master Chief's armor has taken on several asthetic changes. The details have been increased and the look and feel has changed, although still remaining similar to the Halo 3 Mark VI armor. This is probably because 343 Industries didn't want to stray too far from the original version of Halo 2 and Halo 3. Though the same, the armor looks a little different (in the teaser-trailer). The shoulder-pieces appear to be different from the original Mark VI version in Halo 2 and Halo 3. A "pelvis-guard" piece is also missing. 343 industries said there's an actual story reason for the armor change.

There are rumors there might be a new voice actor for Cortana, because during the trailer, Cortana's voice sounds distinctly different from Jen Taylor's, the voice actor in the trilogy. However, they may have just used a temporary replacement for the teaser only (and Jen Taylor may be voice-acting for Cortana in the actual game), or was because when her voice was heard the video was panning "inside" the Chief's body, and therefore muffled her voice.

An "ancient evil" was stated to appear on the leaked Halo E3 page. It has the possibility of being either the Precursors, the Forerunners, the Flood, or something entirely new and unexpected. It should also be noted that the construct shown in the trailer appears to not be of human or Covenant origin. Since Halo Fest 2011, new developments have taken place that show what seems to be the identity of the enemy. It has been confirmed that inside the planet are machines of unknown origin. They seem to be Forerunner in nature, but it is unconfirmed.

A video was released at Halo Fest showcasing concept art of a humanoid creature. What this creature may be has yet to be revealed.

I am so impressed with the Skylanders starter pack. To me, this is the neatest video game technology to date. The characters are placed upon a little platform that sits on the floor or TV stand and lights up. The game recognizes each of these little characters and then inserts the characters into the game. Each physical piece stores the character's accomplishments, rewards, and upgrades--and they all transfer to other systems, so that you may pick up your game wherever you left off (i.e., at a friends' house, between Xbox and Wii, our American skylanders are even compatible with overseas consoles, dispite the different format).

The game play is simple enough for my 4 year old and the puzzles are challenging enough for me! My four children (age 4, 5, 9, and 10) LOVE playing this together and they all collect the Skylanders pieces. The characters are simply adorable! and their upgrades make them even cuter.

I can't say enough about this set-up! We invite friends over to play and explain how neat and unique the whole gaming system is, so I'm more than happy to come on to Amazon and RAVE. If this is where video games are going, I CAN'T WAIT to see what they come up with next.

I bought Skylanders and sure, the initial $70 was a bit much but it was for my kid, although as my wife says 'yeah, right'. Anyway! He has so much fun with this game! He takes Spyro around everywhere with him and has Trigger Happy proudly positioned on top of my Monitor (which looks weird) and Gill Grunt is guarding the bathroom. Kids eh? But, whenever he fires the game up, there's a blur and the toys are gone.

When he plays, he collects everything and just has a lot of fun playing it. He loves when Spyro does the charge attack but when he saw Trigger Happy's mini-gun attack, I'm sure his eyes almost burst out of his head.

Anyway, if you have kids (or you want to buy it 'for your kid') then this game is a must! Its fun. In fact, i'm going to say it's GREAT fun and, after all, isn't that the important thing?

Oh, you don't need to buy any other toy to play the game but I just ordered Prism Break and Chop-Chop because, well, they look so cool! Oh, yeah, and my kid likes them too. Sigh, I wonder where Chop-Chop will end up 'guarding'.

If you're curious to who I am as a game player so as to understand this review: 28, married, no children and the last games I just finished or am playing are Warhammer 40k: Space Marine, Cars 2, Burnout Crash, Rock of Ages and I'm highly anticipating Professor Layton 4, LotR: War of the North, Saints Row 3 and Uncharted 3.

If you want the quick answer/review, here it is: if you love figurines (regardless of points of articulation), fun and quirky character design, new technology, a decent 3rd-person brawler and the grind, then you should buy this game this very moment.

The Gimmick
There's always got to be a gimmick when you try to charge more than the "standard price of admission" for any game. In this case, the $69.99 you spend nets you the PORTAL OF POWER and three Skylander figurines. What this is used for is essentially your real-time character change. When you place a Skylander on the Portal of Power, the game recognizes this and swaps your character to the one you places on the portal. The really neat part is that it saves that individual character's stats (current level, stats, upgrades and hat). That means it's basically it's own proprietary memory card. I think Toys for Bob and Activision did a good job executing this new integration of figurines with video games.

I also like the way it's integrated as it's compatible across the board. This means if you bring your figures to a friend's house who owns a different system than you, you can still join the fight with your characters. There's even an online portal that allows you to access the Skylanders Universe with your figures, storing a separate chunk of data (web vs. console).

To be completely honest, I'd rather have DLC presented this way than your standard $4.99 download from XBL or PSN. At least you have something physical to show for it, versus virtual goods in general, which is something so many folks (see: your parents) have a hard time understanding.

The Game
The actual game is your standard 3rd person action brawler. You basically have three different characters to choose from (the initial three that come in the starter) and you just spend the rest of your time running through a linear map, fighting bad guys, leveling up and buying upgrades while seeking out hidden treasures that contain hats (which also give you buffs). This means you don't have to buy any more figures to beat the game (or get the achievements), but it does help and add more flavor to the mix.

It's definitely not a bad game as it really is presented quite well. I think my first inclination would be to compare it to Gauntlet. You can even break open barrels to obtain food items because your figure is likely hungry.

The visuals aren't anything to write home about as they definitely aren't pushing the system's capabilities nor is the writing in the story. It's definitely geared toward the younger crowd, but I think that's completely okay. It's a great way to really integrate the game playing experience with the family.

Speaking of family, Joe from Family Guy (the neighbor in the wheelchair) voices one of the characters in the game. I'm just waiting for him to ask Bonnie for something.

Should You Buy It?
Yes. Like I mentioned earlier, if you really love figures, new technology and well executed 3rd person action brawler games with a decent grind, this is for you.

Release of Call of Duty Elite Mobile Versions Had to be Postponed

Friday, November 18, 2011

Call of Duty Elite is a free/subscription-based service created by Beachhead Studios for the multiplayer portion of Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The console app allows users to access Call of Duty Elite on their consoles. Elite also has a mobile app which allows users to access Call of Duty Elite on their smartphones such as the iPhone and Android. In addition to this Elite also has Facebook integration which allows users with Facebook accounts to see their Facebook friends when they come online to any Call of Duty title and allows them to invite their friends to a lobby from the Facebook app. The public beta was released on July 14, 2011 on the Xbox 360 exclusively for Black Ops.

Activision said it will postpone the launch of mobile applications for the game Call of Duty Elite up traffic on the network can be added. Call of Duty Elite is one game that is sure to interest many people. Tracking network statistics / social network overwhelmed when Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 to the mobile version last week glide past with so many new players that play simultaneously. Similarly, as quoted by Digital Trends, Thursday (11/17/2011).

Call of Duty Elite

The next effort is to bring some service games for free and some other services have to subscribe, it's all back on the slow-moving online. Until now, the website is moving slowly and the content itself is still limited, but every day it continues to increase website performance.

When the creators of Elite, the Beachhead Studios struggle to bring the full version of this game online, but the speed of the network should also be adjusted to support this game. This is what makes Activision's difficult to make some decisions.

FAQ recently posted a statement from the publisher that answer all common questions from fans and bring some new information to support the game Call of Duty Elite better.

"At a time when many people curious and eager to play Call of Duty Elite to the mobile version, we plan to release it for the IOS and the Android platform, but we should be able to handle network traffic and add the capacity so this game can be played well," post content FAQ.

Campaign: Visuals: The game really does have the same exact gameplay as it did before. So, the paint layer has been updated and looks so much better. It doesn't look like a 2011 title but it still looks pretty amazing for a 12 year old engine.

Audio: Sound really has been improved. Now don't worry, nothing has been dramatically changed. It's what you know and love about Halo, but remastered.

Classic mode: As 343 has been bragging about, yes classic mode is really fun to switch back and forth with. The changes are very obvious. You can tell they put a lot of work into it.

What's new: The terminals, achievements and skulls. I'm sure you know what achievements and skulls are, but terminals only started in Halo 3. Now the terminals, as opposed to Halo 3's text terminals, are videos. The terminals are really fun to find and watch, plus they give you some back story to Halo 4.

Multiplayer: Well, you get 6 slayer and 1 firefight maps that are based on Halo CE's maps. Except these are made with the Halo: Reach engine. Which is a little disappointing to not play in the Halo: CE engine. Which by the way had great multiplayer, but I suppose it'll do. If Reach didn't get some sort map pack, there would be a lot of complaints, so it's understandable.

The game is worth getting but not necessarily worth $40. That's why I preorded, because amazon gave me a $10 credit.

I was 11 when I first played Halo back in 02. I'm 19 now and can honestly say this brought back so many good memories. The graphics are phenomenal. Chief looks great in HD, Cortana looks lame but she looked hottest in Halo CE 01 but oh well. The textures aren't as strong as in reach but the lighting is much better so it's a fair trade off in a way. The pistol is back and is OP as ever. It's so nice to be able to use one of the best guns in an FPS ever created again.

The game itself is 40$ which is a steal but the game is fairly barebones, offering the Halo: CEHD campaign and a few maps for reach multiplayer remade from old ones. I'm pleased Headlong is back but they still haven't brought back Bloodgulch which sucks.

The Campaign is nostalgic and feels new yet still old at the same time. It's cool to see all the old levels we know and love revamped in yummy HD Beauty. Dolby digital is incredible for this game. The sound effects sound extremely well since most are re-engineered for Halo 1. The Sniper sounds like a sniper and no longer a cap gun. The game captures the feeling of being a super human again like the good ole days. When playing Halo 1 it's easy to see why Halo: Reach felt so weak in comparison. Sure you know you're a Spartan but you just feel like a wimp with a weak gun and shields. However, in Halo 1 you feel indestructible, godlike and deadly. I think Halo 2 was the last Halo that had that feeling.

I don't really like Reach's multiplayer since I got bored of it but I'll enjoy it again one day but with Skyrim, Gears 3, and BF3 it's hard to go back to reach MP. 343I should've just revamped the old-school MP instead of being lazy.

If this game had Halo CEMP I'd give this 5 stars but because of that minor inconvenience I'm giving this 4 stars.

If your a fan of Halo you should buy this. Whether your a grizzeled veteran of Halo 1 or a newcomer who only played Halo 3 or Reach you will probably love this.

I was so excited to play this game the minute I got home from standing in line for 2 hours! The campaign is amazing. being able to switch from Classic view to the updated HD view was extremely fun. I would have to say this Halo campaign is the hardest to beat on legendary out of all of the Halo FPS games. The Campaign is also the biggest that I have seen. I have beaten halo 3 in under 6 hours before on legendary.I consider myself a good Halo player, but with this game, I was stuck on Truth and Reconciliation for nearly 3 hours! that right there tells me, that for $39.99, this game is a steal. The multiplayer maps are also amazing. Great to play on, and beautifully remade. The achievements were so fun to get and definitely made the game ever more fun.

I will give this game 5 stars, but I still had some cons about it.

When I was on 343 guilty spark, I was stuck on classic view. I tried to switch back to HD, but all I got was a black screen with audio. I later played the same level again and it worked just fine. I don't know if my game just glitched beforehand or it was messed up. Also sometimes, whenever I killed some enemies, and their weapons would fly off, the weapon would get stuck on the wall or the floor just rotating and making a repetitive beep as I walked pass them. At first I thought Woah, is that a secret weapon? Well nope. Just a mess up. Throughout the game, When I would die, it would be so hard to get checkpoints. I would play through, and kill say 30 enemies, be hundreds of feet away from my last checkpoint, and still not get a new checkpoint and have to redo everything. then when I would respawn, sometimes I would kill 5 enemies and get a checkpoint immediately. So the game definitely had many malfunctions.

On the campaign Landscape in HD, countless times I would try to snipe enemies or shoot a rocket, and it would hit a rock or a tree branch that wasn't visible. So quite often I would have to switch to Classic mode just to kill enemies.

I don't think the game was tested through enough during its product remake, but I still enjoyed the game very much.Looking passed the cons, this game is still incredible. It shows how far Halo has grown over the years.

I highly recommend this game to any player.

I hope Halo Anniversary reviews above can be useful for you. You're also can share these Halo Anniversary reviews to your friends if you think it can be useful for them.

I just got this game, having been a fan of the Elder Scrolls Series since Daggerfall and I have to say this is an incredibly impressive game. The story (so far) has been incredibly rich and the world seems larger than Oblivion, about on par with Morrowind. It also has a far darker feel than Oblivion (one of my chief complaints with that particular game), and also sports a slightly more coherent story line. That isn't to say that the game is perfect though, it is an incredible game that strives to really push the open world RPG genre, but a little unpolished. What I mean by this is that the game lack a little bit in textures (especially in when is snows and you're close to an object_ and that there are a lot of areas where your character can get stuck. Also, while I haven't experiences this problem my younger brother is fairly upset by it, this problem is that the game unexpectedly freezes quit often and has trouble loading. Overall this is another amazing game from the Elder Scrolls Series and I would definitely recommend it to any fan of the previous games or the last two Fallout games. Just be ready for some fairly aggravating flaws (that will hopefully be fixed with a patch/update in the near future).

I love Elder Scrolls, I played Oblivion and I loved that game. I played that a million times over. I intend to do the same for Skyrim! I love the finishers they added while it combat, including with the dragons! All though jumping on a dragons head and stabbing his nose seems a little strange to me lol. But regardless, I love it. The leveling system is new and interesting and I love the inventory system. Things seems more accessible to me. I love the mixing of the spells too. Personally I'm not much of a magic guy though, I'll still stick to a sword and shield, but occasionally I like to incinerate a fox or wolf! :D Overall, best $60 that I spend $15 on ever! :)

This game has just taken it's rightful place as my favorite game of all time. I've played every Elder Scrolls game since Morrowind as well as both Bethesda Fallouts. Morrowind was my favorite of all time... until Skyrim came. The graphical quality is very similar to Oblivion, but the attention to detail is far greater this time around. If you're expecting a graphical quantum leap then you will probably be disappointed. But the world is none the less gorgeous and meticulously detailed. Characters are one area where you can tell more care has been taken graphically, they are simply gorgeous regardless of type. Speaking of their behavior, they are much more convincing than they were in Oblivion. Creatures and humanoids really seem to come alive.

Where the game really takes a turn is the action and leveling system. Battles are much more fluid now and a bit more strategic. Combat is fun and it works well in both 3rd and 1st person views. The spell system is not as open-ended as it was in Morrowind or Oblivion, but spells seem more truly varied in their effects and of course the graphics for the spells themselves GREATLY trumps Oblivion. You can now dual wield spells and weapons, in any combination that you would like. This makes for a much better action experience, and it really does seal the deal. One of my greatest qualms with Oblivion was how leveling made your character feel weaker and required a great deal of distraction in order to level efficiently. This is gone from Skyrim. You now level up gradually when any skill is raised and there is no need to focus MORE on secondary skills than on skills you actually use. You select from three stats after leveling, regardless of how you leveled. There is no requirement to keep detailed notebooks on the leveling process or anything like that if you want to be powerful. You can focus on the story and action, which is how a Bethesda RPG SHOULD BE. You just do your thing and you level when you level. Also gone are the level-scaled enemies. You will face more powerful enemies as you level up, but you will also face the weaker enemies as well. It gives your character a sense of growing power, which is important in an RPG. As I said, the spells seem to have been trimmed down significantly in number, but the individual spells seem more varied and functional. Ice spells slow characters down in addition to damage, fire spells add damage over time, shock spells damage magicka as well health. Nothing seems wasted or overly situational. The perk system is basically a talent tree and it is much better than even the Fallout series.

I won't talk much about the story. This is an open and free world, and the story is ALWAYS great in a Bethesda RPG. This is my favorite Elders Scrolls tale yet. It can happen in any number of ways and your decisions will matter in this world. You can read a large number of books in game, and sometimes it can give you clues that will lead you to treasure or better strategies for playing.

In short, this game has taken it's place as my favorite game of all time. It now trumps the mighty Morrowind for me. I think even people who couldn't get into Oblivion could probably get into this game, especially fans of action games and FPS type games.

I started playing the elder scrolls games with morrowind, moved on to oblivion and loved them both. skyrim is by far one of the greatest RPG games i have ever played and i will continue to play for along time. I have played many RPG games and for the first time ever i got a feeling of what it might be like to fight a dragon. i wish i could shake the hand of every man who helped make this game and thank them for every hour to come of joy with this game. to all the people that just hated on this game, you had no idea what you were buying and it would probably be best if you just did not say anything to ruin this games should be perfect score.

Reviewed by Shane Allen Windham

As with most RPG's in this era of gaming, Skyrim delivers a vast amount of choices to be made and places to be seen. What makes this game different however, is its lack of a linear equation. You really have to wonder if any two people will ever have the same experience playing through this game. While there are plot points to be found, you are not likely to ever stumble across them the same way twice. And, depending on how you approach your experiences and choices, the game will always unfold differently. I'm guessing I will likely still be seeing new things well after my 10th playthrough.

Without question, this is the most beautiful game I have ever seen where landscapes are concerned. At times character models and certain parts of cutscenes still take on that unnatural look or set of movements so commonly found in RPG's. But I literally cannot even think of another game which looks this good.

The people and places of this world are engaging and memorable. The voice acting is fine tuned. And there's always something new to be had with this experience. Just when you think you've seen every creature or enemy, something else comes charging at you.

The more you use certain types of skills, the more proficient you become with them. But the game also gives a mass amount of freedom in the area of perks; leaving you feeling as though you aren't on some unalterable path if you primarily like to use magic, for instance. You'll still find the ability to become a badass with swords, armor, etc. There are also the powers hidden around the world which further aid in your development, but aren't directly associated with your class. All in all, this leaves you with a character you will consistently feel good about; as the room to improve upon or make changes is completely suited to your liking.

You'll likely find that both 1st and 3rd person view modes have their pros/cons, and will therefore move freely between the two points of view, depending on the situation in which you find yourself. And although some battling in this game still gives the impression of play fights (so common in RPG's), many of the kills present in Skyrim are much more akin to brutal melee kills in modern day first person shooters. These types of kills are beyond satisfying.

If I have to point out the bad (which, of course, I feel I have to), I'd warn that the game doesn't always give great direction with regard to control function and item sorting/selecting/assigning. If you're familiar with role playing games in general, you'll know this is nothing new to any such experience. But one would have hoped that, in a game this groundbreaking, they would have addressed controlling and modifying with a few quick tutorials. But perhaps that's not even worth complaining about. Maybe it's something I want until I have, and then I realize that such things take away from the adventuring spirit of this game.

In short, this is the best RPG I've ever touched. Many will play this game for years and not tire of it, or stop thirsting for another venture into these gorgeous vistas; packed with ever-new twists and turns. If you have any kind of appreciation for beauty and exploration, then you should buy this game right now. For no one has ever done role playing this well. They may never do it this well again. All its lacking is the ability to share it with friends through some type of multi-player or co-op. But then, this is meant to be your adventure, yours alone, to guide.

Overall: 9/10

This is an excellent addition to the Elderscrolls name. The upgrades from Oblivion are minor (mostly cosmetic), but I definitely have enjoyed them (many lessons learned from Fallout 3). I think the combat system is still the weakest aspect of Elderscrolls games, but I've never these games for those anyways! If you want an exploration and mood/environment immersion style game this one is for you!

I began playing The Elder Scroll series back when part II: Daggerfall was released late in the 1990s. I was impressed by the unique atmosphere and character that the game had, and by the shear magnitude of it.. Morrowind was, of course, a perfect follow up of Daggerfall keeping all of the great features and character of Daggerfall, and adding voice actors and better graphics. Oblivion was great, you could still roam freely and choose your own fate and the artwork and graphics were impressive and the characters of the game still had a kind of morbid sarcasm that made the Elder Scrolls great. Although, I was a little aggravated that they used the same actors' voices over and over for various characters throughout the game. Skyrim...it is just perfect. They have new voice actors, but they still have that same dark sarcasm that isn't too much, but leads to a good laugh at 2 in the morning. Unfortunately, many sequels of my favorite RPGs have systematically removed the features that made the games great, but not Skyrim. Apparently, many users have left feedback explaining all the great features, so I won't go into that. My point is that as a longtime fan of The Elder Scrolls and RPGs in general, other games have let me down, but not Skyrim. LONG LIVE THE BROTHERS OF SKYRIM!!!!

Overall, this is an excellent and well-made game that I would recommend to any fan of RPGs.

Instead of a long, drawn-out review, I will write a quick synopsis along with the PROs and Cons that I've encountered.

Skyrim's gameplay is not drastically different from its predecessor Oblivion. So if you enjoyed Oblivion I highly recommend that you get this game. Skyrim's gameplay is similar to such a point that I refer to it as Oblviion 2.0. This is not necessarily a bad thing, since I enjoyed Oblivion and it was also an excellent game.

PROs:

- Fun, engaging gameplay
- interesting story lines that do not restrict the player to a given script
- infinite questing
- new, more intuitive leveling system, a needed change from Oblivion
- free roam, expansive environment with breath-taking landscape views
- Mods. Want darker nights? Naked NPCS? Player designed quests? Skyrim is moddable.

CONs

- the menus are a bit clunky on a PC with keyboard/mouse use. It is mildly frustrating to peruse the menus with the mouse
- my mouse's left click controls my character's right hand and right click controls my character's left hand. This is irritating
- Hostile AI is "stupid" and easy to outsmart. Giant spider attacks me, I run to a doorway through which it cannot fit and then fire my spells at it - while it vainly tries to claw at me OR giant rats try to claw at me through a closed gate, so I just stand there and blast them with my spells. They don't even try to run or hide, but rather vainly try to strike me with melee through a sealed gate.
-sometimes the game crashes after looting a chest/barrel/variant. Happened to me once and other users have reported similarly

The cons however are not game-breaking and are just irritants. I give Skyrim 4 stars, because it is an awesome RPG, yet barely falls short of perfection.

Now I am off to play Skyrim, my favorite game of 2011.

I was excited to start this game. I know people have an issue with Steam and I do as well, but I was a huge fan of Oblivion and was willing to ignore that issue for this game. The intro to this game immediately brought back memories of Oblivion, but my mind wasn't completely blown until I was able to free roam. The nature, the detail and the scenery are stunning, and the audio and music are even better. Everything that I loved about Oblivion and Morrowind is in this game, and everything that I hated about Oblivion is removed from this game (especially the way the level scaling worked).

I do have a gripe about the menus. It is very difficult to navigate with the mouse (this has been mentioned in many other reviews), however, it doesn't take away from the game-play. I also realize this is version 1.1, so I am willing to let it go in hopes that new patches will come out to perfect this, as well as some minor stability issues. This is Hands down "Game of the Year" material.

I hope Skyrim reviews for PC above can be your reference before you buy this game. Be sure your PC have met Skyrim PC system requirements before you play this game. If you want to buy Skyrim for PC, I highly recommend you to buy it on Amazon

As we can see in the video above, the location is extremely similar. But, I think we have to admit if GTA V graphics are better than GTA San Andreas. FYI, GTA San Andreas is a 2004 open world action video game developed by British games developer Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games.
