Skyrim Enchanting Perks and Guide to Enchant Items

Monday, November 21, 2011

Skyrim Enchanting is the magical augmentation of existing devices and weapons to imbue them with magical effects. The more powerful the enchanter, the stronger the magic he can bind to his weapons and armor. Skyrim Enchanting falls under The Mage play-style.

If you want to enchant items, first an item with a pre-existing enchantment must be disenchanted, using an Arcane Enchanter. The item is permanently destroyed after doing so. Henceforth, the character can imbue items with that quality using filled Soul Gems. Soul Gems also restore the depleted enchantments of weapons, with the perk Soul Squeezer giving additional effect to this feature. The quality of soul gem used for weapons determines the amount of charge the weapon has to begin with, while on armor and jewelry it determines the magnitude of the enchantment.

You're also can read some questions about Skyrim Enchanting below:

Question
Skyrim Enchanting Questions?
In Skyrim, I know there are many factors to how strong an enchant is, but does the item that you are enchanting affect the strength of the enchant? like does a silver garnet ring enchant stronger than a plain silver ring? also what exactly is a soul gem? do you need to fill the soul gems that you pick up if you pick up a petty soul gem for example? and when you soul trap something do you need to have a soul gem in your bag already or does it just make one? thanks

by Cole

Answer
No, the item you enchant has no effect on the power of the enchantment. That is effected only by which soul gem you use and your enchanting level.

A soul gem comes in 5 different sizes. They will state which size they are, followed by which size soul they contain. E.g. If you have a "common" soul gem, but have a "lesser" soul in it, it will be named as "Common Soul Gem (Lesser)" - Soul gems can only hold souls of a smaller to equal size. So a Lesser gem cannot hold a greater soul.

If the name of a soul gem has nothing in brackets, that means it is empty and requires a soul. To do this you need to hit an enemy with the soul trap spell/enchantment and kill it whilst the effect is still active. - You will not trap a soul without an empty soul gem to hold it.

Hope that all makes sense

Question
What point is there to Skyrim Enchanting?
So I started leveling up my enchantment skill, but then I discovered I couldn't disenchant my ArchMages Robes and Morokei mask. And those two things (archmages robes give -15% overall spell cost, +50 magicka, +150% magicka regen --- Morokai gives +100 magicka) are quite possibly the best gear for a mage, and simply require beating the mages guild to acquire them.

So if I can't disenchant them to put their stats on, say, some high quality armor, and I will probably never acquire an enchantment that is better than those things, then why in the hell would any mage even bother to raise enchanting? if not as a source of income?

by Richard

Answer
Well here is an example of why to bother raising enchanting:

Step 1: Enchanting Skill 100. (Plenty of guides on this and smithing to make armor)

Step 2: Pick an armor set. (Glass, whatever)

Step 3: Enchant 25% cost reduction in two spell lines (due to double enchant perk) on 4 pieces (Ring, Necklace, Chest, Helm)

Step 4: Throw away Archmage robes and Morokai mask. Enjoy zero spell cost or spread the reduction out between more schools if you like.

Top 5 Best Skyrim Mods

Saturday, November 19, 2011

I'm going to share to you the top 5 best Skyrim mods! By using mods, it can enhance your gaming experience. If you're a modder, you can share your mod information by put your comment below. Ok, here are the list of top 5 best Skyrim mods and the descriptions:

Top 5 Best Skyrim Mods

1. No More Blocky Faces
by Xenius

No More Blocky Faces

You probably all noticed the blocky noses and chins of the human and elven characters in Skyrim. This was caused by compressed textures with the _msn affix. I have smoothed the noses and chins and saved them as uncompressed textures.

Updated version also removes blocky eyelids, ears and lips. Brow ridges and wrinkels have not been removed, only the blocky ones have been smoothed, because I did not want to alter the intended design. This mod affects the following races, male and female including old characters:
  • Imperial
  • Nord
  • Breton
  • Redguard
  • Dark Elf
  • High Elf
  • Wood Elf
  • Orc

2. Detailed Faces
by Xenius

Detailed Faces v2

This little mod increases the face detail of the human and elven races, male and female. I made this for personal use, thought some of you might like it as well so decided to upload it here.

On the comparison pictures you see the old skin on the left, the new skin on the right. On some of them it's a bit hard to notice due to the low light.

This mod affects the following races, male and female including old characters:
  • Imperial
  • Nord
  • Breton
  • Redguard
  • Dark Elf
  • High Elf
  • Wood Elf
  • Orc

Updated to v2.0
Detail of the skin textures has been increased by using a seamless human skin texture resource. I filled an 4096x4096 image with this resource, then decreased the size to 2048x2048 and applied it to the original face textures.

More detail has been added to the lips, specular maps have been made less glossy but more detailed.

3. Enhanced Night Skyrim
by CptJoker

Enhanced Night Skyrim

This is a new edition of my Enhanced Night Sky mod, modified for the icy lands of Skyrim. It's a high resolution texture replacement for the night sky taken from real starfield photography. This will not affect the appearance of constellations (yes, the game has constellations finally!) which are contained in another file - this will simply enhance the backdrop for a much denser starfield.

Enjoy!

4. Enhanced Blood Textures
by dDefinder

Enhanced Blood Textures

Improved blood texture detail and increased resolution from 512 to 2048. New screen blood textures to have more of a splatter appearance rather than a dot. Plugin will adjust screen blood's size, opacity, duration, and amount. Will also Increase blood duration on weapons

5. FXAA Post Process Injector
by some_dude

FXAA Post Process Injector

Enhance your graphics with a variety of post processing effects, including bloom, sharpen, technicolor, sepia, tonemap, vignette, and more.

Skyrim Ore Smelting Guide

If you want to smelting ore, you can read this Skyrim ore smelting guide. You must find a furnace or smelter to smelting ore which is typically in the shape of a very large, cone-shaped oven. You must know, not all forges have a smelter, but Whiterun has one.

Skyrim Ore

You can find the smelter in Whiterun, specifically on the right next to Warmaiden, just a few feet past the forge, grindstone at all. As part of the Smithing skill, ores can be turned in to Ingots at a smelter and then into Armor or Weapons at a Forge. However, this does not increase a skill. Ores respawn after 1 month in-game time.

Here are some Skyrim Ores information:

Skyrim Ores

Iron Ore
Iron Ore is found by mining an Iron Ore Vein. It is used to make Iron Ingots and Steel Ingots at a Smelter.

Corundum Ore
Corundum Ore is an Ore used to make Corundum Ingots and Steel Ingots together with Iron Ore.

Orichalcum Ore
Orichalcum Ore is used to make Orichalum Ingots at a Smelter.

Gold Ore

Silver Ore
Silver Ore is mined with a Pickaxe from Silver Ore Veins. Each vein, when mined, has a chance to produce a Precious gem. Silver Ore is used to make Silver Ingots at a Smelter. Silver Ores may be transmuted from Iron Ore using a Transmute Mineral Ore spell. Likewise, Silver Ores may be transmuted into Gold Ores.

Moonstone Ore
Moonstone Ore is a Smithing material found in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. It is described as a yellow-cream stone.
While the ore itself is quite rare to find whilst adventuring, in can be found in abundance in certain mines and caves. Many Blacksmiths also sell moonstone ore, as well as the refined variant. They are used in creating Elven items and Glass items, and also for improvement.

When used in a Smelter, it becomes Refined Moonstone.

Malachite Ore
Malachite Ore is a type of ore found in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Two Malachite Ore can be smelted together using a Smelter to create one Refined Malachite.

Quicksilver Ore
Green, pink and turquoise in colour, Quicksilver Ore can be smelted into Quicksilver Ingot to be used in smithing to craft armor and weapons. It is mostly exclusive to Elven craft however.
Quicksilver can be annoyingly rare from shopkeepers and in nature, particularly in the wee hours of the journey in Skyrim, but may quickly become much more frequent as the adventurer meets Elven craft-wearers.

Fixed points include Quicksilver Mine, located in Dawnstar. Quicksilver Mine is located slightly to the west of the city itself, near the water's edge. It yields quite a handful of Quicksilver Ore when mined with a Pickaxe.

A further quicksilver vein exists just north of the ledge at Shearpoint, close to the Shrine of Julianos and south of the giant's camp.

To the west of Dawnstar amony the two offshore islands there is 4 Quicksilver ore veins.

Skyrim Builds: So You Have a Battlemage Skills!

Are you looking for Skyrim builds? You can read one of the Skyrim builds in here! The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim offers a huge variety of different character developments. Since there are no fixed classes alone determines the way you play, how your character develops. In this guide we look at an example of the Battlemage, who claimed with heavy armor, shield, and magic attacks against his opponents.

The Battlemage plays quite aggressively and directly. It is not your goal, you sneak up quietly on your target and attack from ambush. Because you wear a shield and heavy armor, you can get your opponents, usually without problems confront directly.

Skyrim Builds: Battlemage Skills

The Right Breed
I play my Battlemage style reasons as north. I promised the appearance of the north simply best. If you like the look is worth only matter and put you on the ability of the race, I would recommend to a Breton, Dark Elf, Redguard or an Imperial.

Perks as a Battlemage
On the following perks I put on my Battlemages especially valuable:

Heavy Armor
One of the most important characteristics of a fighter-mage is of course the heavy armor. Here, pretty much all the perks are useful. Especially at the beginning to the heavy weight of armor is very disturbing.

If you increase to 70 Heavy armor, heavy armor weighs your nothing more, if you choose conditioning. For all collectors a must!

Block
And who already wears heavy armor, his defense perfected by a sign. By Perk arrows as you fend off bypass slight distance from the archers, to go into combat.

Skills now easy with the left part of the tree further and take even elementary protection here and sign runners. So you have the relevant skills to quickly come to magicians and archers in the melee.

One-handed
At first stage, of course you take with trooper. If you frequently run out of stamina, then you take fighting stance. Alternatively, you can also pick up fighting stance and later distribute only points in another tree. By the time you have on hand 50, you should still do so and take you directly savage impact.

The weapon specialization I would choose only if you have nothing else to skill or anyway play around always with the same weapon.

Invocation
In this tree you go the second route from the right to the very top. So Summoning (novice) => mystical bond => Drain Soul => binding to Oblivion.

Since you apportion much damage on the melee, you can use the magic-saving perks to the right safely omit. Similarly, the improvement of the summons in this build is not so important because you have no "real" Necromancer play and play the summoned creatures from thee no such role.

Change
In this tree, you can pretty much take whatever you like. The only exception: Mage Armor. Since you as a Battlemage is usually not go around without armor, you can safely save you the 3 points.

Double change magic, I would just leave. Because I want to go into combat, sees my tactic is not casting a spell after another.

Restoration
On the way to invincibility, we assume that only heavy armor and shield, and a few perks of recovery. Here you take on every case with all refreshment and recreation link to the right in the tree.

Enchantment
Here you can romp again beautiful. Here are all useful perks, except the three leftmost (frost, fire and shock). The remaining perks help you much further in this build, as the perks at blacksmith and complete the profile as a Battlemage. More information about Enchantment, see our guide to Skyrim enchantment and soul stones.

I hope you liked this Skyrim build. As always, play what you enjoy doing and feel free you, this build arbitrarily adjust to your preferences. If you have suggestions, feedback or your own Skyrim builds, write a comment!

Skyrim Bleak Falls Barrow

Bleak Falls Barrow is a massive, ancient temple built by the Nords to worship the Dragons. Bleak Falls Barrow is where ancient Nords buried their dead; as such, the Barrow is infested with aggressive Draugr. There is also an Inner sanctum, which is blocked by a gate which only the dragon claw can open after a puzzle is solved.(The puzzle is solve by looking at the palm of the golden claw and goes from top to bottom as follows: Bear, Dragon, Owl then hit the activate panel in the center of the door) Inside the Inner Sanctum lies a word wall, guarded by a sleeping Dragon Priest (alternatively a Draugr Overlord if the player is at a low level).

Bleak Falls Barrow Quest Walkthrough

Skyrim Bleak Falls Barrow

Bleak Falls Barrow
Travel to the Nordic ruins of Bleak Falls Barrow and enter. Be careful traveling to the ruins, though; a dragon sometimes spawns outside. Low level players may want to enter the ruins quickly.

Puzzle Room
You will come to a puzzle room in the Barrow. Inside is a bandit; ready your weapon and let him come to you, otherwise you can be injured by the arrow trap in the ceiling.

In the room, there are three movable pillars on the left and a lever in the middle (where the bandit was standing). Pulling the lever causes arrows to rain down from the ceiling, injuring you. You can disarm the trap by activating the pillars in the following order, starting at the first pillar:
  • Snake
  • Snake
  • Fish

Note: If you are playing on an Xbox 360 and the pillars will not move, exit and re-enter Bleak Falls Barrows.

Bleak Falls Barrow 2
Travel through the dungeon and you'll come to winding stairs that go downwards. There are Skeevers at the bottom of this, and just around the corner there is a giant frostbite spider. Here, you will find Arvel the Swift, trapped in a Frostbite Spider web. You'll have to kill the Frostbite spider and free Arvel, but as soon as you free Arvel he will make a run for it. Chase him down and kill the coward. Here, you could use a flame or sparks spell, as it frees Arvel by breaking the web but kills him very quickly as he falls, so no chasing is needed.

Arvel will have the Golden Claw on his body as well as his journal. Keep on going through the dungeon you will find the crypt of some angry Nordic warriors. Through the first room, the corridor leading out to the next room has a push-button on the floor that makes a wall of spikes swing 180 degrees at you - jump over this pressure pad or walk the narrow path behind the spiked wall to avoid being swiss cheese. Deal will all the Draugr and carry on through the dungeon. In the next room the corridor leading onwards has swinging axes. Save before you attempt this, you'll need to time it right to run past each axe individually, or if you're feeling lucky, make a mad dash through them all. It is obscenely difficult to do this, but possible. The chain to turn it off is on the other side. As you get down further, Draugr will start running at you from around corners. Make use of magic here.

You'll come to a massive circular door with locks around them. You'll need to look at the symbols on the Golden Claw and match them up. The combination is:
  • Outer Ring - Bear
  • Middle Ring - Butterfly
  • Inner Ring - Owl

Word Wall
Once you have solved the puzzle and opened up the door you will come to a dragon alter room with a Word Wall in it. Go towards the word wall and you will learn a dragon shout. However, once you have learned the dragon shout a high level Draugr will arise from his coffin and will attack you. Kill the Draugr on its body will be the Dragon Stone go back to Farengar and give it to him.

What Should You Do in Skyrim? Read This Tips!

Saturday, November 12, 2011

If you need tips what should you do in Skyrim, you can read the tips in here! There are 7 tips of things you should do in Skyrim. What are they? You can see the list of 7 tips of things you should do in Skyrim below:

The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim

1. Play through one of the main plots. It may be outré to suggest, but just because there are limitless ways to play Skyrim doesn't mean there's no value in following the parts of it that are most elaborately written. There are two narratives that are the most worthwhile in this regard. One is the return of the dragons to Skyrim. They were long thought extinct and their reappearance now, in accordance with an age-old prophecy, could mean the end days are at hand. Figuring out exactly what's going on, and why, is something only you can do, as you have a connection to the dragons that you'll only gradually discover. Doing so, and seeing the many places it takes you, is a lot fun. The other story you'll want to consider following is that of the civil war gripping the country. Who will take control now that the High King has been killed: General Tullius, leader of the Imperial forces, or Ulfric Stormcloak, who's at the head of the rebellion determined to sever Skyrim's connection with the Empire forever? Pick a side and see what you can do to help settle things once and for all. Just be aware that your decisions have consequences you'll have to deal with not just when talking to Tullius and Ulfric, but when dealing with the rank-and-file folks around Skyrim. If you can't decide which of these stories interests you more, consider pursuing them both: You'll be fascinated at the ways they intertwine as the game unfolds.

2. Climb every mountain. Skyrim is one of the best-looking games we've seen in ages, but even more impressive than the quality of the graphics is the consistency of the design. This section of Tamriel is inhabited by the Nords, who correspond (not so surprisingly) to the Scandinavians in our world, and the geography reflects this. So take some time on your quest and really explore the highlands of this remarkable place. As you proceed ever higher, you'll find some amazing sights among the snow-packed peaks of the region's ranges, though you'll face some fearsome monsters along the way. (Ice trolls and frost wolves are much nastier than they sound.) If you're interested in the most spiritual experience, try making the legendary pilgrimage of the Seven Thousand Steps to High Hrothgar. You may be surprised how much you learn about yourself along the way. Once you get to the apex, stick around a while to observe the silent order of the Greybeards: They reportedly know a lot more about what's happening than their secluded tendencies may suggest. Feeling even more daring? Once you get there, proceed to the Throat of the World, the highest mountain in Skyrim and follow it all the way to the top. If you can.

3. Track down all 13 Guardian Stones. One of the most exciting things about Skyrim is that it doesn't try to shoehorn you into a certain character class. You don't need to decide to be a warrior, a wizard, or a thief; your actions will determine the way you progress in the game. But this doesn't mean you can't get some help along the way. Within your first minutes of playing Skyrim, you'll notice three Guardian Stones: ancient artifacts that supercharge your ability to learn certain kinds of skills. But there are 10 other stones scattered around Skyrim that grant additional powers, such as more rapid restoration of your Magicka when you've drained it casting too many spells or a drastically increased carrying capacity. You can only have the benefits from one Guardian Stone active at a time, but if you know where all the stones are, you'll be guaranteed to have the proper enhancement whenever you need it. So start searching!

4. Join a union. As mentioned, you don't need to follow the traditional RPG rulebook when it comes to character creation if you don't want to. But you'll be missing out on large, fascinating sections of the game if you stay a completely independent agent all the time. Sure, you have the option of joining up with either General Tullius' Imperial Army or the members of the Stormcloak rebellion, and a quick trip to Solitude for the former or Windhelm for the latter will set you on the proper path. You have other options, too, for connecting with other people in the land who share your professional interests. Fighter types may want to join the Companions, a loose, leaderless brotherhood of brave souls who live and battle together in Whiterun. If magic is more your thing, a trip to Winterhold is in order: The college there will help you hone your skills and learn more about the most mystical secrets of the universe. I'd love to tell you about the Thieves' Guild, but of course no such thing exists, as anyone in Riften will be happy to tell you. If you really want to, uh, make a killing, someone in Rorikstead can get you started on the path to joining the Dark Brotherhood. The Blades, an elite commando-type unit that played a key role in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, are still around and may be looking for help—ask around in Riverwood for more information.

5. Settle down. Mara, one of the deities worshipped by followers of the Nine Divines, is the Goddess of Love, and she may be able to work her magic on you. While on your travels, you may come across the Amulet of Mara. If you do, put it on: You'll encounter new dialogue choices with certain NPCs that allow you to fall in love with and propose to them. The game's developers announced recently that both opposite- and same-sex marriages are fair game, so if there's someone you take a shine to, it's worth a shot to ask. Marrying someone in Skyrim may not be without its consequences, but this is a big world and who wants to go through it alone? While you're at it, consider buying a house. They're not cheap (though at least you don't have to contend with credit default swaps), but having a place to hang your helmet, store the hundreds of items you acquire, and sleep whenever you need or want to is a big plus.

6. Indulge yourself. Some cities, like New York, Las Vegas, and Paris have well-deserved reputations for the culinary and alcoholic delights they offer those willing to seek them out. Okay, there's probably no chance that Skyrim will ever join that vaunted list, but you'll find hundreds of things you can eat and drink scattered throughout the realm. Develop your cooking chops and you may even be able to craft some clever concoctions yourself. Feel free to taste test wherever you can and experiment—very little you find will kill you (at least right away)—but do try to practice a little self-control. Enter a drinking contest, for example, and if you get too excited, you may black out and have no memory of the terrible things you did the night before. Your next quest may be piecing together what you did in the time you'd rather forget! (Hmm, where have I heard of this kind of story before...?)

7. See where the road takes you. We could spend all day listing things you experience in Skyrim, but the real fun of the game is unlocking new ones yourself. Not sure how to find them? Just start walking and you'll eventually stumble on something. Traveling Khajiit merchants selling moon sugar. Trios of men joining for an impromptu mead tasting. Members of the Imperial Army dragging along a dissident for... well, who knows. A town full of vampires. A city carved entirely into the side of a mountain. Follow the road from town to town, seeing what awaits you, or make a beeline through the wilderness (though, in that case, you really should keep a weapon handy). Whatever you choose, one thing's for sure: This is a game in which anything can happen. So let it. You'll discover that in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, the sky really is the limit.
